Great example for students. Most students tend to add too many different ideas at the same time or switch ideas too quickly. Here is a great video of how a song is built using repetition and melody.

I appreciate your comment. Sorry I do not have an online tutorial. I have done that part of the instruction “live” so far because I find students need constant formative assessments as they go through the process. Maybe I will look at that as many students still need to revisit the information several times before they can successfully to use it. I personally have checked many publications but still have not found one on melody and song writing that I would want to use in the classroom. Some have good sections but they all fall short somehow.
